Images

Images are snapshots from our lives.  We take picture when we are born, during  parties and celebrations, running a marathon, or climbing a mountain.  There are so many reasons to take pictures.

How do we show off pictures?  They may start from your Kodak Instamatic, Olympus 35 mm, and, perhaps from a digital camera.  These images from our life are often made into a paper based scrapbook.  The transition from a piece of paper or a slide to a digital image, opens up new "digital scrap booking" avenues. 

Once the images become digital, service bureaus, like Printergy® converts paper/film images to a digital format  and write a disc.  Cart the disc home and load the picture files onto your computer's hard drive.  At my home, I purchased an external hard drive for my wife's digital photography. Her pictures are now portable and can travel via internet or car!

How do you put together slide show? Your guest may not want to see 3 ga-zillion pictures of Sue's birth thru graduation.  If you picked 100, added some music and slide titles, now you have something.  Life's events and dates fade.  Consider placing a text title on pictures to identify dates, places and people!

There are several types of slide show/presentation software.  The image is the main point with music and title slides making it more interesting.  PowerPoint can be considered business graphics with some pictures and audio. But I have seem personal presentations do well in PowerPoint.

Digital books:

A Flip Books is a special case of computer based slide show.  All the images are placed in the book and the user reads the flip book by turning pages (with the help of a mouse).  [We have an interesting example of a Spanish-English comic book.] 

Photo albums and scrap books are "slide shows" with textured background.  Two or more pictures may be displayed on a page. The scrap book/photo album software  lays out the pictures for eventual printing.  Some Photo albums software creates a DVD playable show.  Control over the pictures and music may be daunting for some, but with professional level software, we have excellent control over music and picture quality. 

Digital picture frames.  Consider a picture that changes! No, it is not Harry Potter and Printergy will use its wizardry. We order frames directly off the web from our supplier so you will be able to choose 60+ frames from necklaces to traditional looking frames.

eBooks can be different.  And may be though of as an electronic book.  Take your everyday dime store novel, it can be re-created and put on a CD, or downloaded from a publisher's web site.  The CD books have additional electronic features. The beer company does not have a lock on "use by" date.  In this case, use of eBooks with this feature enabled will go poof and self destroy.  There are versions of eBooks created in Adobe PDF with vocal/talking attributes.  Our take is that the books reads well but text-to-speech needs improvement.
