Our HD or High Definition Service is recommended if your objective is to view scanned slides on a HD set.
Larger screens require more data and no pixeliszation.
Of course, if you desire another DPI and de-screening, no problem. Often, pictures prepared for the web are low SD DPI (72 DPI).
For either service, we will supply a "JPG" format image (or "TIFF") on disc. Depending on the number and physical size, the images will be placed on a CD or DVD in the sequence scanned.
Sometimes, computer software, controlling scanning equipment, measures the DPI slightly different. As an example picture scanning may be represented as 200% at 600 DPI. That is, the size of the picture is DOUBLED (by the scanning software). The doubled size picture then is scanned at 600%. A Very Healthy Scan!
There are solutions for older slides having dust and color fading problems or swollen jackets. Please inquire.
A Data Disc contains digital images of slides/ pictures. Normally, images are loaded based on the scanned sequence. SD Cards, USB Flash drives are great high capacity devices to carry computer data.
A DVD Slide Show Disc comes with navigation! The slide show can be controlled in several ways:
Slide Show is un-timed Untimed Next Advance controlled by pressing "Next" on the handled controller
Slide Show is timed Each images advances each 4 or 5 seconds
Power Point controls the slide show Images on preloaded, customer completes the show
How many Slides & Pictures fit on a disc? We look at data discs as a way to transport slides and pictures from Printergy to your computer. If you have under 1,400 to 1,500 "Jpg"/"Tiff" items, we use a CD. A DVD is called for when we have a larger number.
However, we always use DVD for video related activities such as a slide show & video movies. Even if we have a low number, say 100 items or so, DVDs are used! The reason for this is DVDs present more video quality than yesterday's "Video CDs" product!
IDENTIFYING PICTURES Customers can do some of work to place identifying information, like name and date, event or a spoof 'ey comment
Adobe Photoshop Elements is a great product for DIYers.!

We also can work with Digital Camera's, Smart Cards & Digital Picture frames. Digital picture frames can also play "slide shows" with audio.
Preparation

Film: Remove the
pictures housed in carousels, magazines or
protective slide display pages.
Place the pictures/slides into a Ziploc bag and write your name and
slide/picture titles on the bag. We do have a minimal charge of $4.95 for
removing the pictures from albums and slides from carousels.
For printed pictures in albums: if the picture & protective cover are fused, we can scan thru the plastic cover resulting in a less sharp result/scan. The alternative is not always acceptable -- cutting the picture out of the album page!
Good HD in your Living Room? But with growing prevalence of Plasma & LCD TV, digitize slides should match the specifications of High Definition devices. In a number, 2,500 dpi is becoming the new gold standard. In pixels, if you have a screen rated 1920 x 1080, pixilation can occur on full screen image. Normally, this occurs when images are scanned at a lower pixel count. Also, if you magnify or enlarge a picture portion to 200%, pixilation will occur if there is not enough "data" to support the magnification. Try it!
Dust Removal is available to remove dust specks and possibly repair scratched/damaged images.
Restoration of Color/Grain There are other technology enhancements but they should be used selectively. Using Adobe Photoshop, with troublesome scans is the best tool to take care of problems.
